Nea Moudania (often referred to as Moudania) is a town and seat of the Municipality of Nea Propontida in the prefecture of Halkidiki. They number 9,342 inhabitants. Their distance from Thessaloniki is 54 km. The inhabitants are engaged in tourism and fishing. Together with Nea Michaniona the town is one of the largest fishing centers in Central Macedonia. Wanting to show the long-standing importance of fishing for their lives, the inhabitants established the Traditional Boat and Tool Museum, which is located in the port of New Moudania in 2002. The beach auction is one of the largest in the Mediterranean and it distributes tons of anchovy and sardines, both inside and outside Greece.
Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. It is the seat of the municipality of the same name, the Regional Unity of Thessaloniki, the Region of Central Macedonia and the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia - Thrace. Since its foundation by Kassandros, Thessaloniki as a thriving Hellenistic city until Ottoman domination has capitalized on its strategic position and is being developed into a multicultural city. Since 1912, with the end of the Balkan Wars and the incorporation of the area into the modern Greek state, Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. It is often referred to as the co-capital of Greece.
Nikiti is a town and capital of the municipality of Sithonia. It is 105 km away from Thessaloniki and 36 km from the capital of the Prefecture of Chalkidiki, Polygyros. The main occupation of the residents is tourism, olive oil production and beekeeping (Halkidiki is the center of beekeeping in Greece). In the town there are many services of the Municipality. From the point of view of schools, in Nikiti there is kindergarten, elementary school, high school and lyceum. The Cultural Association of young people, with the name "O Sithon", is actively involved in culture. In Kastri, a prehistoric settlement has been found.
