Toroni Informations

Toroni is a village in the southwest of theSithonia peninsula of Halkidiki. The main occupation of the inhabitants is tourism as well as agriculture and fisheries.Tourism rised rapidly in Toroni  in recent years. The distance is 23 kilometers from Neos Marmaras and 120 from Thessaloniki .Next to Toroni there is the Porto Koufo resort, the largest and safest in Northern Greece.The city was created by settlers hailing from Chalcis in the 8th century BC.During the German occupation , the port of Porto Koufos was used by the Nazis for military purposes.

The most famous monuments of Toroni are the castle of pycnometer and the church of St. Athanasius.The closest beaches are Tristinika and Kalamitsi
